Welcome!
I'm a Wedding Photographer based in Ottawa, Canada. I
started this site because in the course of my job I'm often
asked to recommend someone to assist a couple on the day of
their wedding. I work with couples who have thoroughly
enjoyed the wedding planning process, selecting all their
vendors, decorations, etc. ... but often loose time and energy
on their wedding day trying to make sure everything is going
according to plan.
Couples
often want help on their day. They want someone to
do all the little jobs so they and their families can relax and
enjoy the day. Traditionally this was the role
of bridesmaids and groomsmen but these days brides prefer to
spend quality time with their bridesmaids at the salon, spa or
relaxing at home on the morning of their wedding. And,
grooms and their groomsmen often make their own Wedding morning
plans.
Of
course it would be easy to recommend a professional wedding
planner, but weddings are expensive and most brides don't want
to spend another $1500-$3,000 to pay someone to orchestrate
their plans when all they really need is someone reliable,
helpful, knowledgeable and well presented... who will
follow their instructions and just charge them a fixed flat
rate.
Wedding Assistants who list with us agree to charge a fixed flat
rate per wedding and may charge
extra for parking, entrance fees, mileage and
accommodation if required... all of which is detailed in their
client agreements. The Assistants fee covers
all the time spent discussing scheduling for the day, and the
time spent Assisting on the day of the wedding. Assistants
set their own fee based on their experience and demand for their
service. It is usually in the range of $500 - $750 per
wedding.
